Leukomelanoderma is a pigmentation disorder (which causes skin discoloration) characterized by:
- Hyperchromia (excess coloring).
- Hypochromia (color defect).
Cause
Cause
The causes of leukomelanoderma are:
- Of congenital origin.
- Following various dermatoses (skin diseases) such as:
- Tertiary syphilis (cutaneous manifestations of syphilis).
- A lichen (small raised papule-like spot accompanied by more or less severe itching).
- An itch.
- A morphea (a variety of pearly white, hardened scar surrounded by a colored halo tending towards purple).
- Inflammation secondary to irradiation.
- A scar.
