Koby's floriform cataract is a congenital cataract of hereditary nature, and its transmission is probably autosomal dominant (it is enough for one of the two parents to carry the genetic anomaly for the child to have the disease).

History

The term Koby's floriform cataract was first used by the Frenchman Frederic Koby in 1923.

Symptoms of Koby's Floriform Cataracts include:

  • Patients affected by this pathology have a large number of umbrella-shaped and colored transparency losses, preferentially located in particular areas of the lens: the Y sutures.
  • This type of cataract does not cause visual disturbances in the majority of cases.
