Acatalasia is a rare inherited metabolic disorder, resulting in mouth ulcers that can destroy the mucous membrane. It is due to the absence of an enzyme whose role is to transform hydrogen peroxide into water, this is catalase.
History
Actalasia is a disease studied by Takahara in 1952.
