Symptoms
Pathophysiology
La tuberculous spondylodiscitis (in English tuberculous spondylodiscitis), is a disease that is currently on the rise. It is a tuberculosis of the discs intervertebral (cartilaginous discs located between each vertebra, facilitating and cushioning the movements of the spinal column), which classically results in destruction of this element, and of the overlying (located above) and underlying (located below) vertebra: the spondylodiscitis (in English spondylitis).
This pathology mainly affects African immigrants, and begins at any level of the spine (spine). The infection begins in the disc and then spreads to the vertebra itself. During this condition, skeletal abscesses appear on either side of the vertebrae (ossifluent abscesses) which may develop quite far from their point of origin.
