Symptoms

Pathophysiology

A cutaneous abscess is a collection of pus that is well defined at the level of the skin, which leads to the appearance of a lump, which is called a swelling , which is most often painful and has an erythematous (red) area at the periphery.

Skin abscesses are usually the result of small injuries to the skin.

Treatment for this type of condition requires an incision to open the abscess to drain the pus.
