Arboviruses are viral diseases caused by arboviruses, which are viruses transmitted by mosquitoes, ticks, or other bloodsuckers.
The word arbovirus comes from arbor , which is an abbreviation of the English arthropod-borne : carried by arthropods, or biting insects.
Classification
There are several hundred arboviruses belonging to five different families, but only about a hundred of them result in a specific disease.
The main arboviruses are:
- The hemorrhagic fevers.
- La dengue.
- La yellow fever.
- L'encephalitis Japanese.
- L'encephalitis tick-borne.

Arbovirus infections vary in severity, from flu-like symptoms to death.
Pathophysiology
It is an insect bite that transmits arbovirus to humans. These insects are:
- Mosquitoes.
- Sandflies.
- Arachnids.
- Dust mites.
